老李摇了摇头,把裤腿翻开,那些纯棉和涤纶的交织线,此时黄得像浸了隔夜的茶水。
“老张,这批面料纬纱时本白棉纱,经纱时色纱,本白纱本身是不该变黄的。应该是在酵洗的时候,色纱上的靛蓝染料被剥落下来,回沾到了本白纱上。”

“看见没?纯正的靛蓝。”老张看着那道蓝痕,眼神像是在看一个无药可救的病人,“这玩意儿天生就有软肋,不耐氧化易黄变。现在的城市里,汽车尾气、工业废气,空气里的臭氧都到什么水平了?臭氧是极强的氧化剂,再经紫外线一催化,靛蓝黄变就很自然了。”

“两个月之后呢?”老李反问,目光空洞地看着窗外,“实验数据写得清清楚楚:未整理的,两个月降到2-3级;用了AOZ的,两个月也得掉到3-4级。助剂总有消耗完的一天。只要它和空气接触的时间足够长,宿命就不可逆转。”
我坐在一旁,看着他们两个人。一个守着“中性酵素加防沾剂”的洗水执念,一个握着“1-3%浸渍用量”的药水配方。
他们的话赶话,从靛蓝的化学键断裂,扯到了专卖店15天必须翻动一次裤子的陈列潜规则。我觉得他们说的都对,又觉得这些精密如算法的争论,其实什么也改变不了。

The late sun cut through the window glass at an angle, falling across the folded crease of the trouser leg. Two glaring, dirty pale-yellow marks showed up against the indigo fabric — like an unfinished painting of dusk.

"Lao Zhang, in this fabric the weft is undyed natural cotton, the warp is the dyed yarn. The undyed yarn shouldn't be yellowing on its own. What I think happened is that during the enzyme wash, the indigo dye got stripped off the warp yarn and redeposited onto the natural cotton."
Lao Zhang fished a lighter out of his pocket and pulled a single indigo warp yarn from the cut edge of the jeans.
A quick tear. The flame licked across the fiber, a thread of pale smoke rising. Lao Zhang pressed the burning remnant hard against a small white ceramic tile on the corner of the desk. The flame went out. On the tile, a faint, strange blue mark remained.
"See that? Pure indigo." Lao Zhang looked at the blue mark the way you'd look at a patient with no good options. "This stuff has a built-in weakness — it oxidizes easily, it yellows easily. Do you know what the ozone levels are like in cities now, between car exhaust and industrial emissions? Ozone is a powerful oxidizing agent. Add UV light as a catalyst and indigo yellowing is completely natural."
Lao Li sighed and settled back into his chair. "We tested for phenolic yellowing, we tested for light fastness — both came in at grade 4 or above. But the ozone resistance dropped straight to grade 3. As long as the jeans are sitting there folded and static, with air moving across them, the crease is the first place to go."
"So what do we do about it? Are you adding the anti-yellowing finish or not?" Lao Zhang slapped the parameter sheet on the table, his voice rising. "Forty to fifty degrees, pH adjusted to 4.5 to 5.0, soak for twenty minutes. Put that anti-ozone softener — the one called Fix — in first. Let it react with the ozone before the indigo does. Let it take the hit, burn itself out, buy the fabric two months."
"And after two months?" Lao Li asked, staring blankly out the window. "The test data is right there in black and white: untreated, it drops to grade 2–3 within two months.
